Worker Suffers Serious Injury In Construction Accident

Worker Struck by Heavy Equipment at Odenton Construction Site

Back of ambulanceA 40-year-old construction worker sustained a serious injury at a construction site in Anne Arundel County in late August, reported the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. Emergency responders were called to the site on the 2600 block of Conway Road around 8:15 a.m. on August 22, 2013. Upon arrival, they found a worker with a partial amputation of his right leg, apparently caused when he was struck by a piece of heavy equipment. He was taken by helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with what were considered non-life-threatening injuries. The accident is under investigation by Anne Arundel County Police as well as the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH) offices.
